Arson is believed to be behind the attack on Thursday evening against the police station of the popular mountainous resort of Platres and a 30-year-old man was arrested on Friday morning.
Police sources said the suspect was seen approaching the station on foot, setting the fire and walking away.
Specifically, a loud noise preceded a fire which broke out around 10:30pm at a police vehicle parked outside the station.
At the same time, a fire was simultaneously reported in an air conditioner compressor on the outside wall of the building, Philenews reports.
The fire was promptly extinguished by members of the force but not after causing damages to both the vehicle and the compressor.
The fire appears to had been set maliciously with the use of flammable material.
