Anti-sexual harassment code introduced in public, private sector

Relevant News

An anti-sexual harassment code will be included in the collective agreements between workers and employers and has already been introduced in the public sector, Labour Minister Zeta Aimilianidou said on Tuesday.

The code was drafted by trade unions SEK, PEO and the Employers and Industrialists Federation (OEB).

Aimilianidou described the code as an important step towards gender equality and said that both the public service and private sectors had now made steps to tackle sexual harassment in the workplace.

Asked when the code will be implemented, the Minister said it would be incorporated into each collective agreement in the private sector as soon as they come up for renewal.

In the public sector, the Cabinet has already approved the code and its implementation is already underway, she said.
