The Met Office has issued another yellow alert, the second in as many days, warning of extreme high temperatures. The new alert is in force from 10 pm tonight to 5 pm tomorrow afternoon.
It said that the minimum temperature tonight (May 16) is expected to be around 27 C over the southeastern and eastern coasts and around 25 C over the west coast.
The maximum temperature tomorrow (May 17) is expected to be around 41 C inland, around 37 C over the west and north coasts and around 32 C over the mountains.
The highest temperatures today were Nicosia 41 C, Larnaca Airport 38 C, Limassol 37 C, Paphos Airport 34 C, Frenaros 38 C, Prodromos 31 C and Polis Chrysochous 33 C.
