The Met Office has issued another extreme high temperature warning for tomorrow when temperatures are expected to rise to 41 C inland.
It will be the sixth consecutive day with temperatures of between 10 C and 12 C above the seasonal average.
Some respite from the extreme heat is expected as from Friday with the Met Office forecasting a significant drop in temperatures to just a little above average and the possibility of showers over the weekend.
The highest temperatures today were Nicosia 42 C, Larnaca Airport 36 C, Limassol 32 C, Paphos Airport 35 C, Frenaros 39 C and Polis Chrysochous 37 C.
