Police on Friday said all but six out of a total of 987 establishments in Cyprus were in compliance with measures to control the spread of the novel covid-19 virus.
The checks were carried out over the past 24 hours and the six violators of the relevant decrees – all in coastal Paphos – got fines totalling up to €7,000.
Police also said that a total of 33 individuals were also booked for violating the imposed restrictions – such as wearing a mask indoors and other offences..
Seven were in Nicosia, the capital, 14 in coastal Limassol, two in coastal Larnaca, six in coastal Paphos and four in the coastal Famagusta district.
