The attorney general has given his agreement to the appointment by the Police Complaints Commission of a criminal investigator to look into a citizen’s complaint of police brutality.
The man had complained that police had used heavy handed methods when checking whether he had obtained the required permission to be out of the house.
The incident was caught on video which was posted on social media and is expected to figure in the inquiry.
