Minister of Health Michael Hadjipantela said that there has been an increase in COVID19 cases in the past few days, adding that an extraordinary meeting with the Scientific Advisory Committee will take place on Wednesday to assess the course of the pandemic in the next months.
Speaking before the House Finance Committee, where he presented his Ministry’s budget for 2023, Minister Hadjipantelas noted that the target is not to reinstate any measures, even though he pointed out that we have not seen the end of the pandemic.
He added that the Health Ministry and the public hospitals have proven that they can cope with the pandemic.
At the same time, he stated his Ministry’s readiness to immediately involve the private sector if there is a further increase in hospitalizations so that no problems will be created needing the reinstatement of measures.
