96 booked overnight for breaking lockdown

Limassol accounted for more than half the 96 people booked islandwide for breaking the lockdown overnight.

Overall police carried out 4110 checks and booked 96 people in the 12 hours between 6 pm on Wednesday and 6 am on Thursday. Of the total, 56 of those booked were in Limassol.

Police also checked on 576 premises and found no violations. (Nicosia 49, Limassol 23, Larnaca 28, Paphos 250, Famagusta 76 and Morphou area 150).

As regards the decree restricting movement, the breakdown of violations is as follows:

Nicosia: 1156 checks, 23 booked

Limassol: 1041, 56 booked

Larnaca: 407 checks,  8 booked

Paphos: 215 checks, 3 booked

Morphou: 901 checks, none booked

Police HQ traffic unit: 151 checks, none booked

MMAD: 28 checks, 4 booked
