A 72 year old man from Limassol district was arrested on Friday morning in connection with two fires that broke out within a few minutes of each other on Thursday.
The two fires were put out by the fire service after burning a small expanse of wild vegetation.
Acting on information, Episkopi police station officers arrested the man. During a search of his home, they found a petrol canister and other items which were taken in as evidence.
Police are continuing their inquiries.
