Police carried out 707 checks on businesses islandwide in the past 24 hours and booked one for breaking decrees to contain the spread of coronavirus.
A police spokesman told CNA that the manager of a business in Nicosia was issued a €500 out of court fine because he was not wearing gloves and a mask. In addition there was no hand sanitiser available.
The premise booked in Nicosia was one of 14 checked. In addition, police carried out 55 checks in Limassol, 308 in Larnaca, 124 in Paphos, 54 in Famagusta and 152 in the Morphou area.
