The Larnaca Assizes Court sentenced a 70-year-old man from Famagusta, who had been systematically raping a foreign worker he employed in his fields, to 10 years in prison.
The man was found guilty to the charges of rape, sexual exploitation and indecent assault.
The 70-year-old was raping an Indian girl he was employing in his fields, while he had also attacked a second worker from Nepal attempting unsuccessfully to rape her. The felonies were committed between the years 2017-2019.
The trial took place behind closed doors to protect the two women’s identity.
