Nearly 70,000 people have already submitted their bank details online for support from one of the schemes launched by the Labour Ministry to support employees,  self-employed and companies during the economic crisis  resulting from the coronavirus pandemic.

In a message of Twitter, Labour Minister Zeta Emilanidou said 69,725  had submitted their bank details on line by last night/

In addition 4353 applications were submitted for the special sickness allowance, 6180 for the special leave for parents  and 6153 for the special allowance for the self-employed.

Emilianidou told Alpha TV on Tuesday that the ministry’s aim was for all the allowances to those eligible to be paid by April 14.

She added that employers who have applied for help under the schemes because of the impact of the coronavirus crisis on their operations (mandatory closure/drop in turnover) must pay employees’ salaries for the first half of March.

Employees should report any violation of their right on 1433 or by email or letter.
