A 53 year old tourist was remanded in custody for seven days by Paphos district court on Monday in connection with police investigations into the alleged rape of a 29 year old woman at a hotel.
Both are staying at the same hotel. The alleged offence was committed on Friday night in the woman’s hotel room. The two had met at the hotel.
The Cyprus News Agency said the suspect had admitted to coming into sexual contact with the woman, but said it was consensual.
Police are investigating.
