Police said on Monday that a total of 3,929 drivers were caught speeding in the week of May 20 to 26 during a road safety week.
This was the fourth road safety awareness week focusing on speeding so far this year.
Police said that speeding was one of the main factors in fatal and serious traffic collisions.
