A 32 year old man is under arrest on suspicion of defrauding a 71 year old man of €16,200 with the promise that he would buy him a car and a computer.
Police said that the 71 year old had reported that he had given the suspect, who is from the Limassol district, the money between August and October 2018. The suspect had promised that he would import the car from abroad or buy it from an auction, and that he would also buy computers for resale.
But he has neither delivered the goods nor returned the money.
An arrest warrant was issued on January 25 and he was tracked down an arrested on Thursday night.
Limassol police are investigating.
