A soldier was convicted of animal cruelty charges after throwing a cat off from a 3-metre-high building in army camp.
The incident came to light following a complaint from the Animal Party, which had called both on the Minister of Defence and the Chief of National Guard to examine the act and then, to apply the appropriate penalties to the soldier.
Following an investigation procedure carried out by the Ministry, the soldier is to serve a 20-day prison sentence.
