Relevant News

The stories of Ukrainian tourists who have been trapped in Larnaca are really moving. We met four from the families together with their children at Ayios Lazaros square where they meet with the volunteers who supply them with the bare necessities.

One of them said she had travelled with her seven-month son and her mother to Cyprus just three days before the war broke out. She said they are from Kharkov and that their house has been destroyed from the very first day of the invasion. Her brother husband and father are in Ukraine and they are very worried about them.

Another man said he came to Cyprus with his wife and three daughters but when they went to the airport to leave they learned that their flight had been cancelled. Fortunately they said that a group of Ukrainians has helped them. They now live in a small studio that a company of Ukrainians in Cyprus has given them together with a car. They are very worried about their family in Ukraine.

Another man had a factory in Ukraine where 40 people had been working and is  now asking for help to find a job in Cyprus so that he will be able to support his family.
