153 booked in 24 hours for breaking stay at home decree

Police booked 153 drivers and pedestrians over the past 24 hours after carrying out 16,992 checks on compliance with the stay at home decree.

The checks were carried out from 6 am on Thursday to 6 am on Friday.

By district:

Nicosia: 3129 checks, 31 booked

Limassol: 3884 checks, 37 booked

Larnaca: 3155 checks, 36 booked

Paphos: 4141 checks, 22 booked

Famagusta: 1082 checks, 17 booked

Morphou: 558 checks, 1 booked

Police HQ traffic unit:  1004 checks,  9 booked

MMAD: 39 checks, none booked

Moreover, over the same 24 hour period, police carried out 2101 checks on premises  regarding compliance with decrees to contain the spread of coronavirus and 33 were booked.

Breakdown by district:

Nicosia: 297 checks, 4 booked

Limassol: 241 checks, 17 booked

Larnaca: 545 checks, 2 booked

Paphos: 439 checks, none booked

Famagusta: 262 checks, 10 booked

Morphou: 317 checks, none booked
