Another 127 members of the public were booked for breaking the stay at home decree overnight after 4250 checks in all the districts. Two premises were also found to be in violation of other measures introduced to contain the spread of Covid-19 in Cyprus.
According to a breakdown of police checks — between 6 pm on Monday and 6 am on Tuesday, there were:
Nicosia (and Morphou): 1874 checks, 34 booked
Limassol: 1275Â checks, 32 booked
Larnaca: 501 checks, 41 booked
Paphos: 98 checks, 14 booked
Famagusta: 335 checks, 6 booked
Police HQ traffic unit (on motorways) 154 checks
MMAD: 13 checks
Police also carried out 1165 checks of premises overnight and two were booked, both in Paphos.
