Police carried out 3867 checks overnight of drivers and pedestrians to ensure compliance with a decree prohibiting all but essential movement outside the house.
The same decree imposes a curfew on all but essential workers from 9 pm to 6 am.
According to the latest figures released by police, from 6 pm on Sunday to 6 am, a total of 126 individuals were booked after 3867 checks.
Moreover 824 checks were carried out of premises over the same time period. None were reported.
