10,599 EU citizens to vote in EP elections in Cyprus

The chief returning officer has released a breakdown of the nationality of the 10,559 voters from other EU member states who have registered to vote in the European Parliament elections in Cyprus on May 26.

Elections will be held in all EU member states between May 23 and 26.  In Cyprus they will be held on Sunday, May 26 and permanent residents of other EU member states can register to elect Cyprus’ six MEPs.

A total of 10,599 — 5704 men and 4855 women have done so. The biggest nationality group is from Greece, followed by Bulgaria, Romania and the UK.

The breakdown is:

Austria 10 ( 6 men, 4 women),  Belgium 7 (2 men, 5 women), Bulgaria 1572 (740 men, 832 women), Croatia 1 (1 woman), Czech republic 6 (2 men, 4 women), France 29 (11 men, 18 women), Denmark 6 (2 men, 4 women), Estonia 3 (3 women), Finland 4 (4 women), Germany 81 (28 men, 53 women), Greece 5743 (3272 men, 2471 women), Hungary 17 (7 men, 10 women),  Ireland 18 (3 men, 15 women), Italy 21 (13 men, 8 women),  Latvia 29 (14 men, 15 women), Lithuania 11 (2 men, 11 women), Luxembourg 1 (1 woman),  Malta 2 (2 women), Netherlands 18 (8 men 10 women), Poland 144 (81 men, 63 women), Portugal  1 (1 man), Romania 1433 (858 men, 575 women), Slovakia 58 (34 men 24 women), Spain 5 (3 men, 2 women), Sweden 20 (5 men 15 women), UK 1319 (612 men, 707 women).
