Coronavirus tests will be carried out on 10% of residents at the two reception centres for asylum seekers — at Kophinou and Kokkinotrimithia.
According to an official announcement, the decision was taken by cabinet on Wednesday.
The tests will be carried out by the Health and Interior Ministries as part of plans to contain the spread of coronavirus and preventive measures by the Interior Ministry for residents and employees at the centres.
The aim is to detect any asymptomatic cases at the two centres, the announcement said..
