Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 25.1 million

More than 25.1 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 842,633​ have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

At the same time, the United Kingdom recorded 1,715 daily confirmed cases of COVID-19, according to government data on Sunday, compared with 1,108 a day earlier.

One person had died after they tested positive for the disease within 28 days, it said.
