A light magnitude 3.1 earthquake hit the Greek island of Crete early on Friday – specifically at 3:52am, about 50 km southwest of Heraklion.
The earthquake occurred at a shallow depth of 17.3 km beneath the epicenter, according to the National Observatory of Athens (NOA).
No damages or injuries were reported.
