A ministerial committee is underway chaired by President Nicos Anastasiades to evaluate measures aiming to curb the spread of coronavirus.
Government Spokesman Kyriacos Koushos told CNA on Sunday that the meeting is expected assess the situation.
“The committee will assess the situation, as this is being shaped,” Koushos said, adding that the Council of Ministers will convene next Wednesday.
Since the first confirmed case on March 9 Cyprus has reported a total of 446 confirmed cases and nine deaths from coronavirus. The death toll in Cyprus is 14 people who had contracted the virus, but only 9 of these deaths can be attributed to COVID-19, while five people died from other causes.
