Environment Commissioner Klelia Vasiliou will discuss with Ministers of Finance and Transport the drafting of a bill to regulate the distribution of flyers to homes, Phileleftheros reports.
The proposal, submitted by the Greens and Akel, was discussed at the latest sitting of the House Environment Committee and concerns the formation of an official body that would monitor the implementation of the relevant law on brochure distribution.
MP Adamos Adamou heading the committee explained that those who do not wish to receive such flyers will be able to place relevant stickers on their post boxes.
“The current situation with printed flyers is abysmal and needs to be regulated by law, which is a matter pending since 2009.
“There are people who wish to receive such ads, and that is their right,” Adamou concluded.
