A 61-year-old man was arrested on Monday evening in connection with a case on August 8 where a suspicious suitcase had been found outside the Presidential Palace in Nicosia. The suitcase was destroyed in a controlled explosion.
Police later said the suitcase, located outside of the Palace fence, did not contain explosives.
After the arrested man was interrogated, he got charged in writing with the criminal offenses of harassment, disturbing the peace, inciting unrest and illegal entry.
He has been released to appear before court at a later date, as investigation are ongoing, according to the police.
