Roads

Police said that there are problems on the mountain roads because of the weather and drivers are urged to be particularly careful

There have been rock slides on the following roads:

Kakopetria – Pinewood – Pedoulas
Platres –Trooditissa
Pedoulas – Kykkos
Prodromos – Trooditissa

Because of ice, roads in the mountains are slippery.

The Platres, Prodromos and Karvounas roads are open only to four wheel drive cars or those equipped with snow chains.

All drivers in the mountains should be particularly careful, drive slowly and keep a safe distance from other drivers, police said adding that because road conditions in the mountains are changing, the public should stay updated via the police app or website www.cypruspolicenews.com.
