Monday will be mainly fine as high pressure affects the area, with a new low pressure system expected from Wednesday evening.
Today will be mainly fine trough there will be increased cloud locally in the afternoon. Temperatures will be 18 C inland and on the coast and around 8 C in the mountains.
Tonight will be mainly fine, but there will be increased localised cloud in the west and north. Temperatures will fall to 5 C inland, 9 C on the west coast, around 7 C on the remaining coasts and -1 in the mountains.
Tuesday will start off fine, though locally there will be increased cloud in the west and north. From noon on the weather will become partly cloudy and light showers are possible. There may be light snowfall in the higher mountain peaks.
Wednesday will see intervals of sunshine and intervals with cloud and there may be scattered light rain and snow in the mountains.From the afternoon on the weather will become mainly cloudy with scattered rain and isolated thunderstorms. Snow or sleet is forecast in the mountains.
Temperatures will edge down to average for the time of year.
Thursday will be cloudy at intervals with rain in most areas and isolated thunderstorms. Snow is forecast in the mountains.
Temperatures will fall to slightly below average for the time of year.
At the time of issue of the met office’s early morning bulletin there was 48 cm of snow at Troodos Square.
