After above average temperatures for two days which prompted the met office to issue extreme high temperature warnings for Thursday and Friday, the weekend will be significantly cooler.
In its early morning weather bulletin on Saturday, the met office said a weak high pressure system is affecting the area.
Saturday will be mainly fine with high cloud at intervals. Temperatures will be 32 C inland and in the east, 30 C on the west coast, around 26 C in the remaining coasts and 22 C in the mountains.
Tonight will be mainly fine. Temperatures will drop to 16 C inland, around 19 C in the west, around 17 C on the remaining coasts and 11 C in the mountains.
Sunday will be mainly fine with increased high cloud at intervals.
Monday and Tuesday will be mainly fine. Temperatures will remain at the same levels on Sunday, edging up on Monday and Tuesday to a little above average for the time of year.
