Locanda Locatelli restaurant located in Amara hotel, Limassol, opens its doors with a menu embodying Italy’s spirit of conviviality, whereby the heart of cooking is defined as the enjoyment of quality food in good company. It offers homemade pasta, delectable desserts and many other delightful dishes toasting to the charms of Italian tradition.

The interior is simple and classy. At the entrance, you walk into a nice corridor with the wine cellars stored in glass.

There is a dividing wall with velvet sofas on each side in front of the tables. In our case (we were a group of 7) there was some difficulty moving and sitting comfortably on the couch. 

The menu is divided into sections offering snacks, starters, soups, pasta and main dishes. 

The freshly baked bread that came with a bowl of olive oil was excellent. For starters, we ordered vitello tonnato – thin slices of boiled beef with tuna sauce and capers

 insalata autunnale – seasonal salad

sardine in saor – sweet & sour sardines with raisins and pine nuts

The portions were rather small but nicely presented and quite delicious.

As a main dish, myself and most of us ordered Linguine all’astice – pasta with lobster, garlic, sweet chilli and tomato sauce.

It was not as expected, there is nothing special about this dish. 

We ordered two different desserts to share: cassata della Locanda – ricotta mousse laying on a sponge cake with pistachios and covered by the chocolate and pistachio ice cream

and tiramisu

None of them impressed me. 

However,  the petit fours from the house were amazing
