Saturday will see increased cloud coverage which in the afternoon is expected to give way to isolated showers, mainly in the western part of the island. From the late afternoon into the evening, local showers and isolated thunderstorms are expected.
Winds will be primarily south to southwesterly, initially light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, becoming gradually moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort, and in the late afternoon and evening, strong to very strong, 5 to 6 Beaufort, locally reaching near gale force, 7 Beaufort.
The sea will be initially smooth to slight, gradually becoming rough to very rough, locally.
Temperatures during the daytime will rise to around 26 degrees Celsius inland and along the coasts, and around 16 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.
Weather conditions are expected to improve by the early morning hours on Sunday.
On Sunday, the weather will be intermittently mostly cloudy, and in the afternoon, isolated showers may occur locally, with the possibility of thunderstorms. Snow or sleet is not ruled out on the highest peaks of Troodos. In the region, the winds will continue to be strong to very strong.
Temperatures will experience a noticeable drop, hovering near the average for the time of the season.
