As of today, two additional e-Point electric vehicle charging stations are now accessible to the public in Nicosia, enhancing the city’s electric vehicle infrastructure.
According to an announcement by the Nicosia Municipality, two new e-Point charging stations commenced operation on Friday, May 10, 2024, at municipal parking lots located in the Davila moat and Tripolis (Solomou Square).
The announcement also noted that since March 2023, two electric chargers have been operational on Stasandrou Street and Princess Zenas Street (Zena Gunther). At the present stage, charging services are offered free of charge, with a time limit in place from 8 am to 8 pm.
The Nicosia Municipality, being the first to initiate such a project, “is dedicated to creating a more humane capital city centre,” the announcement emphasised.
Their primary goal, it added, is to minimise the ecological footprint of the city by reducing vehicle emissions and promoting access to environmentally friendly transportation alternatives. “Electric cars represent a step forward in this direction, always prioritising the improvement of air quality,” the Municipality concluded.
