Security is more than tight in coastal Larnaca in view of Tuesday afternoon’s event in support of the people of Israel organized by the Jewish Communities of Cyprus Union.
Foreign ambassadors, including the American, and Cypriot politicians will also join them in support of and a prayer for Israel, its people and soldiers.
The event will take place at the Larnaca synagogue at 5pm.
Police insiders said an action plan provides increased security in the whole area of Saint Lazarus where the Jewish synagogue is located, according to Philenews.
And that it involves dozens of police officers from different police departments.
Roads are expected to be closed in the area and vehicles will be checked.
The report also said that 200 police officers were mobilized for the Palestinian event on Sunday, most of whom carried anti-riot gear.
