Three individuals, aged 32, 46, and 50, known figures, were placed under seven-day detention by the Larnaca District Court.
They were arrested as suspects in a case of conspiracy to commit a crime, extortion, demanding money with threats aimed at theft, and attempted property destruction using explosive materials, which occurred on 30/04/2024 at a residence in the Larnaca district.
The three suspects were arrested on Easter Tuesday night with judicial warrants and are alleged to be involved in throwing a defensive hand grenade into the yard of a house in Meneou.
The grenade explosion caused damage to the house, although no person was injured.
According to reports, the three individuals are said to have been identified as the persons who threatened a couple residing in the house.
According to police testimonies, the three are alleged to have demanded a large sum of money from the homeowners through threats and intimidation in different instances in March and April.
