The “Turkish Cypriot Football Federation” has prepared its application for membership in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), whose members are 47 football federations from around the world.
The application will be submitted shortly and, as reported from the Turkish side, the AFC seems to allow non-member states of the United Nations to join its circles with the status of “provisional membership.”
This gives these states all rights except participation in the electoral processes of the Confederation.
The President of the “Turkish Cypriot Football Federation”, Hasan Sertoglu, however, referred to Turkey’s efforts to become a provisional member of the AFC.
