The Pame Express buses are full

Relevant News

Pame Express buses are full of passengers during peak hours, with the Department of Transport looking for extra drivers to increase its services. In the first month of the service, Phileleftheros was told, there were around 9,000 journeys, and there are thoughts of extending the period or even finalizing the free service.

The Pame Express is being used to the maximum, Transport Minister Alexis Vafeadis told Phileleftheros.

“During peak hours, that is in the morning and afternoon, the buses are full. But due to lack of drivers, we cannot put more on the route to carry even more people. We are in search. It seems that people are happy.

In relation to the recent announcement by the GSP (which is the starting point and terminal of the Pame Express service) informing that it will charge those who use its car parks, the Minister reassures that at least at this stage, parking will continue to be free (as well as journeys) for those who use the Pame Express card.

However, it was noted, that an agreement is being prepared with the GSP so that the State will provide a very small amount to cover the cleaning of the site and its operating costs.
