On May 17, 2024, students from six schools in Ypsonas will begin abstaining from their classes during the first period.
These include the B’ and C’ Ypsona Kindergartens, the A’, B’, and C’ Ypsonas Elementary Schools, as well as the Ypsonas Gymnasium.
In a statement from the Coordinating Committee of the Parent Associations of the aforementioned schools, it is stated that “from November until today, we have exhausted all dialogue options with the Minister of Education, the Technical Services, and the School Board to implement all the promises we received to resolve the problems that have been pending for years.”
They further state that on Friday, April 26, the timeline they had set expired, and therefore they announced the first of the six agreed measures, which is the abstention of students from the 6 (six) Public Schools of the Municipality of Ypsona during the first period on May 17, 2024.
“All Parent Associations of Public Schools in Ypsonas are putting an end to the unequal treatment of our children. We stand against the indifference of those responsible and demand the obvious for our children,” concludes the statement.
