A Hellenic Force in Cyprus (ELDYK) soldier who was injured during training on Wednesday morning in Stavrovouni underwent surgery, according to philenews.
The man was hurt during a training exercise in the Agios Modestos area after a grenade detonated in his hands.
First responders provided on-site first aid before the soldier was rushed to a hospital for further treatment.
The Defence Ministry has announced that an investigation is in progress to determine the causes of the accident.
