Snow and showers but temperatures going up

Relevant News

A low pressure system is affecting Cyprus bringing a rather late one could say wintry weather, with lower temperatures, storms and finally a bit of snow on the Troodos mountains. Local showers, storms and light snowfalls are forecast through to Wednesday but the chilly outlook will be gradually subsiding.
Overcast skies through the day are expected to bring isolated showers, mainly in the western half of the island and on the mountains. Snow or sleet is considered to be very likely on the highest reaches of Troodos.
Winds will initially be light northeasterly to southeasterly and turning locally moderate force three to four and gradually southwesterly to northwesterly over slight seas. Temperatures will rise to 17 degrees Celsius inland, maintaining a colder pattern, with the same around the coasts and seven on the mountains.
Overcast skies this evening will bring isolated showers, mainly in the western and northern coastal regions, with light southwesterly to northwesterly winds force three to four, over slight seas. Five degrees inland, 7 on the southern and eastern coastal regions, 9 in the west and north and zero on the mountains where frost is expected to form.
Isolated showers and possibly storms are expected tomorrow, mainly in the western and northern coastal regions, with Tuesday and Wednesday seeing local showers in the west, north and the mountains from early afternoon onwards.
Temperatures however will be going up over the next couple of days, higher than the seasonal average.
