A seven-year-old girl is in critical condition at the Makarios Children’s Intensive Care Unit in Nicosia after a car crash in Paphos last night.
According to police, the collision happened when a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old permanent resident of Cyprus collided with another car driven by a 30-year-old woman. The woman’s car also had three passengers: her seven-year-old daughter, a 14-year-old boy, and another seven-year-old girl, all relatives.
The 30-year-old woman’s daughter and the 14-year-old boy were seriously injured and taken by ambulance to Paphos Hospital.
The seven-year-old girl’s condition was deemed critical, and she was transferred to the Makarios Hospital in Nicosia, where she was admitted to the ICU. The 14-year-old boy is being held for observation in the surgical ward of Paphos Hospital.
The 30-year-old driver and her seven-year-old daughter were examined and released from the hospital as they did not sustain serious injuries.
The 21-year-old driver of the other vehicle and his passenger were also kept at Paphos Hospital for precautionary reasons. The 21-year-old underwent a drug test, which came back negative.
Paphos Traffic Police are continuing their investigations to determine the cause of the accident.
