Second arrest for cannabis trafficking

Relevant News

The second person involved in the drug trafficking operation that was interrupted by YKAN in a Paphos area last December has finally been located by the police based on forensic evidence obtained from the evidence.

He is a 22-year-old, also from Larnaca like the first arrestee.

During surveillance in an area of the Paphos province in December, YKAN members spotted two young individuals in a car and a motorcycle, engaging in the delivery of a package.

As soon as they noticed the police, the two threw the package and fled.

The driver of the car, driving recklessly and after colliding with a police vehicle, managed to escape.

The driver of the motorcycle, which also collided with a police vehicle, attempted to flee on foot after the crash but was apprehended by the police.

It was found that he was a 23-year-old resident of Larnaca, who was arrested on the spot for an offense committed in flagrante delicto.

Another quantity of cannabis, weighing 19 grams, was found inside his motorcycle.

Subsequently, it was discovered that the package the two men attempted to exchange contained approximately two kilograms of cannabis.

A case has already been filed against the 23-year-old before the District Court of Paphos, and it is expected that the same will now be done for the 22-year-old following his arrest yesterday.
