Repatriation of US citizens from Israel via Cyprus by ship

Relevant News

Preparations are in full swing at the Zenon Coordination Centre in Larnaca for the reception and provision of facilities to foreign nationals expected in Cyprus.

Information from Philenews reports that the flows are expected to be more massive after Monday, October 16, since many countries have submitted requests, through the National Plan ESTIA, for the provision of facilities to their nationals, who will be removed both by sea with ships and by air with military aircraft.

One of the countries that has requested our country’s assistance is the United States. In a statement, the United States Embassy in Israel is calling on its nationals and their family members to rush to the port of Haifa tomorrow, Monday, in order to be transferred to Cyprus.

The US Embassy has also issued instructions on the subject, which are posted on its website. In addition to the US, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and other European countries have also requested the assistance of Cyprus, in addition to Denmark, Britain, and Portugal, which are removing their nationals.

According to reports, as of Sunday afternoon, 502 foreign nationals were reportedly removed from Israel by 8 flights of military aircraft from Portugal, Britain, and Denmark through the ESTIA Plan.

In addition, facilities were provided to 56 people who arrived by boat in our country. In addition to the two airports, the ports of Larnaca and Limassol have been included in the ESTIA Scheme.

Already, through the port of Larnaca, last Friday, 300 foreign nationals who returned to their countries by air were repatriated.
