Private car of Paphos police officer set on fire

Relevant News

Yesterday night, a car in Paphos was completely destroyed by a fire that broke out while it was parked outside the owner’s residence, and it appears to have been deliberately set ablaze.

The vehicle belongs to a member of the Paphos Police Directorate, and investigations to identify the perpetrators and the motives behind the act resumed at an accelerated pace with the first light of day.

The fire in the car broke out just after 10:00 pm while it was parked in the driveway of the police officer’s residence in a village in the outskirts of Paphos.

The timely intervention of the Fire Service prevented the spread of the fire to nearby vehicles or structures in the area.

Initial on-site examinations after extinguishing the fire revealed indications of malicious intent. The car is used both by the police officer and other members of his family.

Investigations are ongoing, involving the collection of evidence from the scene and taking statements to guide investigators in identifying the perpetrator of the criminal act.
