The Union of Cypriot Journalists (UCJ) announced a campaign on Wednesday to advocate for better working conditions for local journalists and editors.
Named “Journalists Have a Voice” the campaign demands better pay, working conditions, and renewed or newly established collective bargaining agreements.
“We firmly believe that the prerequisites for quality, investigative journalism are, unfortunately, no longer met in Cyprus, a fact that is already having a negative impact on the quality of information, media pluralism, and democracy in our country, in general,” UCJ said.
The campaign seeks public support for these demands, urging citizens to sign a declaration via this link.
