A preliminary agreement regarding the salary advancement of public sector employees, encompassing the combined scales A2-5-7, has been signed at the Ministry of Finance between trade unions and the Minister of Finance.
The Government and Trade Unions have reached an agreement on the issue of salary progression for employees in the Public and Broader Public Sector for the combined scales A2-5-7. The matter concerning A1 employees has been deferred until 2024.
Addressing the salary structure in the public sector, individuals falling within the combined scales A2-5-7 are expected to receive some upgrades to achieve a better salary balance in the Public Sector, as stated by the Minister of Finance.
He noted that the Government carefully considered all factors, including fiscal discipline and the level of wages prevailing in the private sector, delivering what he believes is a solid proposal.
Furthermore, within the framework of rationalizing the state salary structure, any other parameters arising from this agreement will be examined.
