A substantial quantity of tobacco products was discovered and seized yesterday inside a vehicle in Paphos by members of the Police during a traffic check.
According to the Police, around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, members of the Z Team, Paphos Traffic Police, stopped a car for inspection, being driven on a road in Paphos, by a 44-year-old.
During the inspection that followed in the vehicle, 850 cigarette packets, 159 packets of manufactured tobacco, totaling 6 kilograms and 875 grams, and four packets of manufactured hookah tobacco, totaling three kilograms, were found.
As it was determined, the aforementioned products were untaxed, resulting in the 44-year-old being arrested and the products being confiscated.
Both the 44-year-old and the confiscated tobacco products were handed over to officers of the Customs Department, which took over the further investigation of the case.
