The Police proceeded to arrest two individuals, aged 22 and 62, following investigations by the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN), yesterday afternoon in Nicosia, as part of a case involving drug possession with the intent to supply to another person, and money laundering from illegal activities.
Specifically, shortly after 6:30 pm on Thursday, in the area of Agios Dometios, members of YKAN stopped the 22-year-old suspect for inspection. In the possession of the 22-year-old, the Police found approximately 10 grams of cocaine and approximately 8 grams of cannabis, leading to his arrest for offenses caught in the act.
An investigation followed at the residence of the 22-year-old, where YKAN members found approximately 90 grams of cocaine and approximately 60 grams of cannabis.
The 62-year-old suspect was also found at the residence. In the possession of the 62-year-old, the Police found a partially smoked cigarette containing cannabis and a grinder with traces of cannabis, resulting in his arrest for offenses caught in the act.
The two suspects, aged 22 and 62, were placed under arrest, with the provincial unit of YKAN in Nicosia investigating the drug trafficking case.
