Police arrest Limassol resident in money deception case

Yesterday, the Police proceeded with the arrest of a 52-year-old resident of Limassol to facilitate investigations into a case of obtaining money under false pretenses.

The case was reported to the Police yesterday by an 83-year-old resident of a village in the Limassol province.

According to the evidence under examination, the 52-year-old is alleged to have obtained monetary sums from the 83-year-old in 23 different instances, purportedly to assist him in regaining ownership of land he lost several years ago.

As reported by the complainant, the total amount purportedly given to the 52-year-old amounts to €12,830.

The 52-year-old was arrested under a judicial warrant issued against him and was placed in custody to facilitate investigations.

The Limassol Police District is investigating the case.
