Police arrest 32-year-old for theft

The Paphos Police proceeded with the arrest of a 32-year-old on Tuesday to assist in the investigations concerning a suspected car theft case.

According to Assistant Police Chief of Paphos Operations, Michalis Nicolaou, on Monday afternoon, an 80-year-old woman reported that a sum of approximately 2,000 euros was missing, which she allegedly had in her car’s glove compartment.

According to the complaint, earlier in the day, around noon, a 32-year-old man reported that the woman’s vehicle was blocking his way and needed to be moved.

Subsequently, the elderly woman gave him the key to move it, which he did.

After the departure of the 32-year-old, the complainant reported that she checked her vehicle and found that the mentioned sum of money was missing.

An arrest warrant was issued against the 32-year-old, and he was arrested on Tuesday evening at 20:00 and is currently in custody.

The 32-year-old denies any involvement in the case.

Investigations into the above case continue by the Paphos Police.
